Where you state, "The theory of ranked choice voting is that it incentivizes candidates to appeal to the political middle," is that really true? I would think it requires candidates to broaden their appeals to more constituents than their so-called "base," not necessarily "political middle".

I'm entirely on board with the idea that this shakes things up. We have an enormous need to get out of the gridlocked, crazy ideations going on.

Typically your commentaries are well written and successful at making your point. But when you misspell the congresswoman's name throughout the article it takes away from her victory. Peltola is the winner, not Perolta or Peralta or Pelota.
